Overview

Do Dham Gangotri Yamunotri Tirth Yatra – Economy Package

Gangotri and Yamunotri are honored as the originating points of two sacred rivers in India—the Ganga and the Yamuna. According to ancient legends, Gangotri is where King Bhagirath meditated with intense devotion to bring the sacred Ganga down to Earth. Yamunotri is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, who is regarded as the sister of Lord Yama, the deity of death, and holds great spiritual importance. Pilgrims visit these places to seek blessings, wash away sins, and attain spiritual peace.

This thoughtfully curated 4-night, 5-day Do Dham Yatra package takes you on a sacred journey through these divine landscapes. Starting from Haridwar, the tour includes stops at Barkot, Uttarkashi, Yamunotri, and Gangotri. Travelers can also explore scenic hill stations like Dehradun and Mussoorie along the route, offering a refreshing blend of spirituality and natural beauty.

The trek to Yamunotri begins at Janki Chatti, where pilgrims can either walk or choose to ride on a pony or palki. Gangotri, situated amidst majestic Himalayan peaks, is accessible by road and offers a peaceful atmosphere for darshan and reflection. This journey promises not only a deep spiritual connection but also the experience of Uttarakhand’s pristine Himalayan charm.

Perched at an altitude of approximately 3,185 meters, Yamunotri is a spiritually significant destination for Hindus and a key stop in the Char Dham Yatra. This revered shrine marks the origin of the holy River Yamuna and is surrounded by natural beauty, including hot water springs and majestic glaciers.

Yamunotri is not just known for its divine connection but also its scenic charm. According to legend, the sage Asit Muni once meditated here, further enhancing the site’s spiritual aura. The actual source of the Yamuna—a frozen lake and glacier known as the Champasar Glacier—is located about 1 kilometer beyond the temple, at an altitude of 4,421 meters on the Kalind mountain. However, due to the challenging terrain and inaccessibility, the shrine is established at the base of the hill.

Pilgrims offer prayers and rituals at the temple itself, as the higher glacier route is not commonly undertaken. The sacredness of the place, combined with its breathtaking setting, makes Yamunotri a divine experience and an unforgettable part of any spiritual journey.

Gangotri, nestled in the serene town of Uttarkashi, holds a prominent place among the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Deeply associated with Goddess Ganga, this sacred destination marks the spiritual origin of the revered River Ganga (Ganges).

Located at an altitude of 3,048 meters, the Gangotri Temple stands surrounded by lush deodar forests and the majestic Garhwal Himalayas. The shrine exudes a powerful spiritual ambiance and draws thousands of devotees each year who come to pay homage to the goddess and seek her divine blessings.

According to Hindu mythology, this is the place where Ganga descended to Earth after the intense penance of King Bhagirath, making it one of the holiest destinations in India. With its breathtaking natural beauty and deep spiritual significance, Gangotri offers pilgrims a profound and peaceful experience, connecting them to ancient traditions and sacred legends.
